Argenta Syndicate Management has strengthened its underwriting teams with three promotions.

Jon Barnes has been appointed to the newly created position of deputy active underwriter of Syndicate 2121, reporting to active underwriter Ian Maguire.

Barnes has 10 years’ experience working at Argenta and in addition to his new appointment will continue to lead Argenta’s International Treaty Account and play a key role in the purchasing of the Syndicate’s reinsurance.

Dan Jansz has also been promoted to class underwriter and David Watson has been promoted to marine liability underwriter.

Maguire said: “We are delighted to announce these appointments, which reflect our commitment to the growth and development of 2121. Filling three key roles by promoting from within is testament to the quality and depth of our underwriting team.

“Jon, Dan and David have the expertise and technical knowledge and well-developed broker relationships to help us achieve this growth. We also continue to look for new teams and individuals to bolster our offering and support our ambitious growth plans.”
