Insurers are still assessing the cost of the riots in Bradford over the weekend, which saw widespread damage caused when Asian youths battled with police in the city's volatile Manningham area.

Among the buildings damaged was a BMW garage, where 20 cars and the showroom were burnt out. Other targets of the rioters were Manningham Labour Club, the Conservative Club and a number of other properties.

Bradford Chamber of Commerce was due to meet on Wednesday to discuss the aftermath of the disruption.
