Each year 150,000 motorists put the wrong fuel
AXA Assistance has added misfuelling insurance to its standard breakdown cover for vehicle owners who buy their cover through broker Insurance Choice.
The AXA Assistance UK product for cars, taxis, mini-buses, couriers and motor homes will now cover for the cost of draining and removing contaminated fuel at the roadside or taking the vehicle to the nearest garage.
About 150,000 UK motorists mistakenly put the wrong fuel in their vehicle every year.
AXA Assistance UK head of account management Paul Moloney said: “We work hard with our clients to identify opportunities to further enhance our offerings to their customers. Additional elements of cover such as misfuelling insurance provide valuable benefits that respond to real customer need.”
