The €150m (£100m) cost of reconstructing the roof of Charles de Gaulle airport following its collapse last year will be mainly covered by AXA, the chairman of the Aeroports de Paris (ADP) said this week.

The roof of terminal 2E at France's main international airport collapsed in May 2004, killing four people.

The collapse has been blamed on structural weaknesses, as the newly-built building was not designed to withstand the stresses that it had been put under.

ADP chairman Pierre Graff said: “The (financial) impact of terminal 2E is completely under control.”
