Insurer establishes broker training course in Bordeaux

AXA commercial lines has launched a new broker training initiative with the successful completion of its first week-long management course at Château Suiduraut in Bordeaux, France. The course is designed to encourage professionalism in the industry and play a role in successfully developing businesses.

21 brokers from across the UK were nominated by AXA’s 11 branches, with most of them already at a senior management level, or displaying an outstanding business aptitude.

AXA commercial director Alasdair Stewart said: “We are committed to helping brokers and this course shows participants how they can improve their own personal management styles. It’s fairly intense, but a lot of fun as well. Also the programme and the time we spend together helps us create and develop long term relationships with the future business leaders in our industry.”

AXA has made a commitment to run two courses a year, with the second one taking place in September this year.

Stewart added: “These courses provide real added value to brokers. It’s a huge investment and commitment from us. It’s not about mugs and mouse-mats; brokers want real support from insurers that will help to grow their business and make a real difference to their bottom line.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
