Bertrand Poupart-Lafarge joins from AXA Canada as Jean Drouffe (pictured) steps down

AXA has appointed Bertrand Poupart-Lafarge its new UK chief financial officer.

He replaces Jean Drouffe who has been promoted to a leadership role at the insurer’s Paris headquarters.

Poupart-Lafarge has worked at other AXA offices, including France, the US and Canada, where he was also a CFO.

He said: “Joining the AXA UK leadership team is an exciting challenge. The business has a strong platform for profitable growth and I look forward to helping the UK group deliver on its ambitions.”

Paul Evans, AXA UK and Ireland group chief executive, said: “I am pleased to welcome Bertrand as our CFO. He brings a wealth of experience to the AXA UK board and executive committee.

“I would like to thank Jean Drouffe for his professional and dedicated stewardship of the UK finance function since 2010 – a challenging period during which we have successfully refocused and restored the profitability of the AXA UK business.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
