John Charman, chairman of Axis Capital, looked liked the fat cat who got the cream this week after being named the eighth richest man in the City.
Charman, whose personal wealth is estimated at a modest £190m, was the only insurer to feature in the top 30 of the Sunday Times' Square Mile 50.
Charman began by building up his Tarquin agency at Lloyd's, which he sold to Ace in 1998. He co-founded Axis Capital in 2001.
