Backchat was delighted to overhear the larger-than-life chief executive of Independent Insurance Michael Bright express his feelings for trade journalists minutes before he announced the insurer's interim results last week.
“I want a T-shirt with ‘I hate trade journalists' written on it,” he said.
Perhaps the bosses of CGNU will share the same sentiment about Brighty himself if he continues to park his “touring super bus” outside their offices. The bus is supposed to curry favour with brokers, so what was it doing parked outside the Manchester office of CGNU recently? Apparently, it provided refuge for many an insurance bod during a rainy lunch.
