Backchat was due out for lunch this week with Philip Fowles of health insurer BCWA. Nothing funny in that, you might think.
Except that Backchat did enjoy the fact that a man with the word Fowl in his name should be such a bird-fancier. Has the plucky chap been watching Chicken Run – the latest children's (and adults') blockbuster from Aardman? Probably.
He chose to meet in a restaurant called Coq d'Argent, which in Backchat's pidgin French translates as silver cock. And the address of said establishment? Number One Poultry, naturally.
Let's just hope Backchat doesn't end up in one of Mrs Tweedy's chicken pies.
