Dress down Friday has a whole new meaning for Backchat since he witnessed the clothing worn by a reporter from one of the “also-ran” insurance papers last week.
Backchat was neatly nestled in at an Axa Global Risks press conference last week when our hero walked in and stunned the assembled masses with his attire.
He wore a crumpled, baggy shirt, a pair of loose-fitting trousers, and no socks and sandals. “Watch out! Here comes Jesus,” shouted the editor of another rival publication.
The reason, the reporter explained, was that he didn't know he was being despatched to the press conference until after he arrived at work in his mufti. But really, sandals and no socks, I ask you.
