Barbican has appointed Jayne Goddard as cyber underwriter as it looks to develop its cyber risk products.

Goddard joins Barbican’s eRisks team from Willis, where she was an executive claims director and the first point of contact for all technology-related claims. She has previously worked as a claims underwriter and placing broker.

Goddard will report to Barbican underwriting manager Geoff White.

Head of specialty Stuart Quinlan said: “Jayne’s appointment as cyber underwriter is an excellent addition to our team and clearly demonstrates our commitment to continually strengthening our cyber capabilities.”

Barbican set up its eRisks division in May 2009.

Goddard said: “In recent years, I have been increasingly keen to specialise in cyber and technology-related lines of business. This is an extremely dynamic sector given the rapidly evolving digital environment in which we all operate. I look forward to working with my colleagues in the specialty division to develop and expand our range of cyber risk solutions.”
