BDML Connect has launched a new subsidiary, BDML Insurance Solutions (BDMLIS), which will focus on niche areas of the affinity insurance market.
Tony Martin, who was previously managing director of Aon's high volume affinity activity, will lead the BDMLIS team.
Other team members will be Stuart Read, Jeremy Edland, Susie Cook (both formerly of Aon) and Lee Glynn, who previously worked at Royal & SunAlliance.
BDML Insurance Solutions will initially focus on three areas; local authority/housing association tenants' insurance programmes; a scheme for employers to insure their home computer initiative programmes; and wholesale travel insurance facilities.
BDMLIS said the products were currently being launched. Martin said: "We are already seeing a lot of interest from potential clients in our chosen markets".
Sandy Dunn, chairman and chief executive of BDML Connect and non-executive chairman of Capita Insurance Services, said: "This is an exciting new venture for the company. The BDMLIS team has come up with some genuine USPs for each target market and I'm very confident they will become a significant contributor to the continued growth of the BDML business."
