Beazley is extending its BeazleyOne private company liability policy to protect in-house lawyers.

The employed lawyers' extension covers in-house counsel of insured companies for claims alleging errors or omissions in the performance of legal services for the company, as well as pro bono services.

Administrative actions contesting an employed lawyer's eligibility to practice law are also covered.

Carrie Brodzinski, Beazley's product manager for private company liability exposures, said: "Private company D&O policies typically cover those responsible for running private businesses, with one exception - in-house counsel.

"Our goal is to provide coverage that is tailored to the needs of our clients. Our clients and our brokers have told us that D&O policies should cover the entire management team. We agree."
