CBC UK, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Besso Group, has acquired H Bernstein Insurance Brokers for an undisclosed sum.
Based in North London, Bernstein is a retail broker operating in personal lines, commercial and motor insurance.
CBC chairman and chief executive, Colin Bird, said: “[The acquisition] is in line with the Group's strategic plan and the company, which has talented people, will thus strengthen our retail business in the UK”.
David Robson, chairman of Bernstein, added: “We have continued to expand but the needs of our clients are becoming ever more complex in this country and abroad. We felt that integrating into a company which gives us close links to the Lloyds and international markets was an obvious step to enable us to continue to fulfil our role on behalf of our clients."
