Birmingham-based health insurer BHSF today reported end of year profits of £1.85m.

The company saw income from premiums rise by 6% to £27m from £25.5m last year.

BHSF supplies health cover to over 2,900 companies including BP, Sainsbury's and Asda.

Combined ratio was reported as 102%.

Chief executive Peter Maskell, said: “Our total of claims and expenses slightly exceeded premium income and this reflects our value-for-money philosophy.

“However, our investment returns have been good, turning this into our best year ever."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
