Victoria Parry is young broker of the year

The British Insurance Brokers' Association has named Victoria Parry of Hugh J Boswell as its Young Broker of the Year, and Mike Cowburn of Towergate as winner of the Francis Perkins Award.

Katie Dudgeon of One call and Sharon Snoddy of Autoline were named as finalists in the young broker award which recognises the performance of younger brokers and encourages commitment to the future professionalism of insurance broking.

Victoria Parry was named as winner of the award because of her outstanding achievement for Hugh J Boswell and her passion to win business and help growth.

Both awards were presented at the opening of the 2010 BIBA conference where Mike Cowburn, who has held a number of posts on BIBA's Yorkshire and Northern Committee and currently sits on BIBA's board, was named winner of the Francis Perkins Award.

Mike was selected for the award, which was instigated by BIBA's first Chairman, in recognition of his longstanding dedication and commitment to the furtherance of the Association.

BIBA chief executive, Eric Galbraith said: "I was delighted by the high calibre of the entries that we received for the two awards and I'm honored to be able to recognise both an experienced and valued member alongside tomorrow's stars of insurance broking."
