AXA Commercial Lines chief executive Amanda Blanc has added Ross Burns to her senior leadership team as IT director.
Burns joins from Towergate business Paymentshield where he was programme and IT director with board level responsibility for three years.
Blanc said: “In today’s competitive environment the role of IT Director is vital to ensure the business trades effectively with customers. I want us to be ahead of the curve.”
Burns joined Fusion Insurance Services in April 2001 and moved to Towergate when it bought the business. He was also head of underwriting systems for Towergate.
Burns said: “I cannot wait to get stuck in to what is truly a career defining role. I am very eager to be working as part of Amanda’s team, there’s a real sense of purpose within it.
"For me good IT has to follow the business objectives so I’m going to be making sure that our systems make it as easy as possible for brokers to do business with us.”
Blanc added: I want us to be at the forefront of the market when it comes to technology, not least when it comes to our e-trading connectivity with brokers and this will be an immediate priority for Ross.”
