Broking group overhauls IT infrastructure
Bluefin has selected SSP as a strategic partner to streamline its IT infrastructure and position the business for further significant growth over the next 18 months.
As part of its continuing integration process, Bluefin reviewed its existing broking systems over the last six months to simplify its IT infrastructure and streamline business processes. Following a thorough evaluation process Bluefin selected SSP to provide a managed service broking solution.
The initial implementation will support over 550 Bluefin users. SSP will host and manage critical applications including commercial lines and London Market broking, schemes management, document management, Microsoft Office, email and anti-virus software, with users accessing applications via a secure connection.
Stuart Reid, chief executive of Bluefin Insurance Group, said: “With the businesses unified under the Bluefin brand the integration process has focused on identifying and adopting the best practices and systems from across the business. With our geographic scale and growth ambitions, SSP’s managed service solution offered a strong proposition for us. The functionality and efficiency of the broking solution combined with the flexibility of the managed service were key considerations for us. This is another significant step forward in our strategy and provides a solid IT infrastructure to support our future growth and improve our efficiency.”
David Waring, SSP’s group sales director, added: “We are delighted that Bluefin has selected SSP as a strategic technology partner. Not only will Bluefin be able to reduce its cost base by simplifying its IT infrastructure, it will also benefit from improved performance as business processes are streamlined. With Bluefin continuing to grow through acquisition the managed service solution provides them with the flexibility to add more branches and users quickly and easily, without incurring additional hardware and infrastructure costs. This is another great endorsement for our managed service solution.”
