Top people's personal lines insurer Chubb Europe has sponsored City property director Tristram Gethin bid to win the 1,800km winter challenge.
The race was formerly known as the Monte Carlo Rally and Gethin and his navigator Robin Stow will enter the race in a Jaguar XK140. The model was one of the fastest cars on the road when it was built in 1956. The British Racing Green drop-head convertible has a 3442cc engine and top speed of 125mph.
Competitors will be judged not just on their race position but on other factors, such as navigation and the presentation of the car.
