Brit Insurance has appointed Graham Taylor to the business development unit, headed by Richard Webster, business development director.

Taylor has worked for several major Lloyd's syndicates and joined Brit Insurance in 2002, where he was most recently US and international property underwriter.

He is a former chairman of the Lloyd's non-marine underwriting and technical committee and is currently on the board of Nuclear Risk Insurers.

In his new role on the business development team, he will be working to develop broker relationships, distribution channels and wider multi-class business opportunities. He will have particular focus on binding authority business throughout the world.

Mike Sibthorpe, London market underwriting director at Brit Insurance, said: “Graham brings substantial experience across a range of classes to the area of business development. He is a respected and well-known figure within the London Market and his expertise and industry contacts will be invaluable.”
