Willett & Ross
Kevin M Hoyle has been appointed managing director of Willett & Ross insurance brokers.
Also Dennis Finn has been appointed to the firm's corporate broking team. He has almost 40 years experience in the industry.

Carlyle Insurance Brokers
Carlyle Insurance Brokers has appointed Chris Brennan ACII, as technical support manager. Brennan, who joins the company from Willis Corroon where he was associate director, will be further enhancing Cardiff-based Carlyle's client servicing operations. His work will encompass technical assistance issues and support for Carlyle's clients covering both commercial and personal insurance services.

Heath Insurance Services
Jaye Ridley has been appointed as account executive for Heath Insurance Services in Wakefield. He joined Heaths as a customer services team leader in April 1998, having been previously at Perrys Group. Director Keith Runciman comments: "this is not only an indication of the growth that our Wakefield operation is experiencing, but also the emphasis that we place on moving our people on through training and development."

AIG Europe
David Palmer has been appointed as crisis management corporate manager for the UK and Ireland. Based in London, he was formerly sales development executive for commercial lines with Allianz Cornhill.

Halifax
Dr David Brown has been appointed senior manager, analysis and pricing, by Halifax General Insurance Services. Brown joins the Halifax from actuarial consultancy, Tillinghast Towers Perrin, where he was a property casualty consultant for four years. During this time he qualified as a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. He also holds a Phd and MA from Cambridge University.

Navigators & General
Rod Daniel has been appointed director of Navigators & General, the UK's leading yacht and motor boat insurer. Daniel was formerly deputy to the previous director Dennis Mossman, who has stepped down after 40 years with the company. Daniel has been with the Brighton-based company, which is part of Zurich Financial Services, and other marine operations within the group for 25 years.

Quest Gates
John Waddell has been appointed managing adjuster of Quest Gates Partnership's Glasgow loss adjusting operations. Waddell joined Quest Gates from Pycraft & Arnold and will be responsible for providing adjusting services including, general property adjusting, personal lines, motor and liability.

Midas IT Services
Lucy Gould has been appointed permanent recruitment consultant by Midas IT Services, named Kent business of the year. Gould will concentrate on Midas' expansion plans and develop its client base. She previously worked for McGregor Boyall Associates, which specialises in the recruitment of IT personnel

Audatex
New area sales managers have been appointed to develop product sales in two regions for Audatex, which specialises in computerised accident damage estimating. John Ashton will cover the Northern region whilst Miriam Cook will look after the Midlands. Ashton joins from MSS group, where he was an account manager. Cook was formerly regional sales manager with an accident assistance company.

LLOYD'S
Wellington Underwriting
John Maxwell and John Robins have been appointed as non-executive directors of specialist Lloyd's insurance company Wellington Underwriting. Maxwell has been director general of the AA since 1996, and has held previous managerial positions with Prudential and Grand Metropolitan. Robins is chairman of Welsh utility company Hyder and has been group chief executive of Guardian Royal Exchange.

Cassidy Davis Syndicate Management
Neil Desphande has been appointed managing director following Edward Creasy's move to RJ Kiln. Desphande, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, was formerly chief operating officer and has been with Cassidy Davis since 1985.
