Reg Brown has joined Kiln's board as a non-executive director.

The director of Julius Group and former director of Octavian Syndicate Management and its successor company, Markel Syndicate Management, joined the syndicate group last week.

Brown, who has been on gardening leave since last November, announced a fortnight ago he would become a non-executive director of underwriting members' mutual club Integer, which is part of the Euclidian Group.

He is a former chairman of Lloyd's Underwriter's Non-Marine Association and was a former member of the Lloyd's Regulatory Board in 1999 and 2000. Brown was also president of the Chartered Insurance Institute last year and has been working in Lloyd's for more than 25 years.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
