Insurance intermediary Budget Insurance Services has completed the initial stages of an IT integration programme that will bring its retail network in line with its call centre operations.
The integration, which will put both the retail network and the call centres on the DISC system, aims to improve efficiency and offer customers more payment plans.
Once completed, Budget said it would be "one of only a handful of intermediaries that has a fully integrated retail network and call centre operation".
Budget said it undertook 18 months of planning followed by nine months of intensive programming before it introduced the system into its Westgate Road, Newcastle branch in October 2001.
Chillingham Road, Newcastle will be the next branch to go live, followed by Chester le Street, Ashington and Southfields.
