New roles also being created as broker restructures

Motorcycle insurance broker Carole Nash is to lose three section heads and six team leaders as it restructures its sales and operations departments.

However, the company is also creating three new senior management posts, and stresses that the changes are not about cost-cutting.

The broker said the currently vacant position of head of sales and operations would be split into separate sales head and operations head positions.

In addition, two business change consultant roles will be created to ensure Carole Nash can cope with change as it continues to diversify away from motorcycle business.

The company has also said it plans to increase the headcount above 2010 levels in 2011.

On the job cuts, Carole Nash said it is hoping to avoid redundancies by offering affected employees redeployment within the business. The company announced the changes internally on 4 April and wil begin a 30-day consultation with affected employees on 8 April.

The changes are designed to streamline processes and procedures to increase accountability, efficiency and customer service.

“This is categorically not about cutting cost, it’s about creating an operational structure that best serves the future needs of our customers and, therefore, the business," said Carole Nash operations director Dave Cullen, the architect of the restructuring.

He added: "As an ambitious and diversifying business it’s vital that we examine our procedures and processes to ensure that we are best serving the changing needs of our customers.

"The aim of this proposed restructure is to ensure we have a balanced organisational structure which maximises the value of available talent, increases process accountability and ultimately enhances the customer experience. That in turn will help drive sales and income."
