Access Computers has clinched a deal with CGU to provide the software for the insurer's motor estimating and communications system.

CGU chose the Auto Repair Costing System because of its extensive database of vehicles, proven ease of use and productivity gains.

Operating on laptop computers, the system allows CGU's 130 motor engineers to accurately estimate parts and labour costs for accident repairs on the spot using data from the motor industry research centre at Thatcham.

It also allows engineers to upload their schedules for each day's work and submit their daily reports into CGU's claims system.
