Lloyd's managing agency Chaucer has appointed Richard Scholes as a non-executive director following the resignation of James Tait.
Scholes is currently a non-executive director at Bodycote International, British Vita and Keller Group.
Scholes' appointment to the agency that manages motor, marine and non-marine syndicates is with immediate effect.
Ewen Gilmour, managing director said: "We are delighted that Richard has agreed to join Chaucer at this exciting time in our industry. With his considerable financial and business experience, Richard is a valuable addition to the Board.
"We are sorry to see Jim go because Chaucer has benefited from his wise counsel during the last two years. He has been a good supporter of the Company and I would like to thank him publicly for his efforts and we wish him well in the future."
