Churchill has unveiled the names of the four loss adjusters that will serve on its panel for the next three years.

The direct writer said it was preparing to sign agreements for general loss adjusting work with Ashworth Mairs, McLarens Toplis and GAB Robins.

Churchill has contracted Davies for specific liabilities relating to its specialist list of more than 5,000 thatched properties.

Charles Crawford, Churchill technical service director, said the new panel would become operational from December 1, 2000.

He said Churchill had selected the four adjusters on the basis of criteria such as technical ability and staff skills, customer culture, including flexibility over opening hours, and nationwide coverage and cost effectiveness.

He said the review had been sparked by significant growth in its household account.

“We decided to put together a panel that will lead us into the future after securing household accounts from United Friendly and Nationwide building society last year.”

Churchill's old panel also consisted of four loss adjusters.
