In response to Martyn Hooper's letter (6 February, Insurance Times) I would also add discontent to the monitoring of CPD records.

I am qualified to have MSTI as designatory letters, but to do so I must return my CPD record when asked to by the CII.

This is asked of me every year, yet I know of colleagues who have chartered titles and have never been asked to submit their CPD record - why the anomaly?

I did ask the CII in writing to explain why I was asked every year when those around me had not been approached - to date I have not had a reply.

It was actually suggested to me that I was asked every year simply because I was quick to respond.

With compliance issues approaching us all, can the CII not get this right for everyone and have continuity for all qualified personnel within the industry?
