Shareholders in Claims Direct have been urged to reject a bid by its founder and former chief executive to take the company private.

Tony Sullman and Colin Poole have offered 10p a share for the part of the company they do not already control. This represents a discount of 95% on the company's flotation price of 180p a year ago.

Independent directors of the company David Hankinson and David Hickey do not believe the offer should be accepted.
