Co-operative Insurance Services (CIS) has joined the wave of high street brands - including Barclays and Swinton - slashing motor policy rates in the soft market.

CIS said new quote engine technology has revolutionised its approach to quoting motor rates. The technology has created a cheaper pricing structure, it said.
