Co-op to take on 150 staff as it moves from PI claims into family law

Co-operative Legal Services has become the first UK alternative business structure (ABS) to launch, according to City AM.

The Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) has licensed Co-operative Group law subsidiaries Lawbridge Solicitors and John Welch and Stammers as ABSs.

The group wants to expand from personal injury claims into family law.

The SRA said that around 60 applications for ABSs were at the second stage of being considered for a licence.
