Crazy claims - "Lifer gets £100,000" (12 December, Insurance Times)

I was appalled at the above and some questions came to mind:

  • Surely this one will go to appeal and the decision kicked out?

  • If not and Martin Pomfret secures £100,000, what about his victims? Surely the people he kidnapped and tortured are more deserving of compensation?

  • Surely his victims would have a better claim against Bolton council for its negligence in not checking Pomfret's "decline into delinquency"?
