The Conservative Party today pledged to tackle the ‘blame and claim' culture head-on with the release of its manifesto for business.

The party outlined five key ways in which it would “restore common sense” and reduce the cost of excessive litigation facing UK businesses:
· Award costs in employment tribunals, thereby cutting the number of speculative claims.
· Take refundable deposits in employment tribunals to reduce non-attendance and last minute withdrawals.
· Halt implementation of the statutory Operating and Financial Review. Cut regulations that will extend directors' liability and increase regulatory burdens on quoted companies.
· Introduce 'sunset' reviews for health and safety regulations.
· Setting ‘common sense' limits to stress claims.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
