Crawford & Company's UK operations remain on ‘amber alert' in advance of anticipated severe storms over the next few days. The company's catastrophe team is on continuous standby following the Met Office's warning of bad weather.

Thunderstorms, torrential rain, and flash flooding have already caused havoc in the North East and the Midlands, and the South and South West are expected to be the next areas hit.

The company has put various measures in place to ensure that client and policyholder requirements are expedited efficiently. These include constant monitoring of the developing weather situation and claims activity via Crawford's 24-hour claims intake unit, a team of nationwide adjusters and specialist claims staff being placed on standby, and restorers and emergency supply companies being contacted to ensure capacity.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
