Crawford-THG is estimating combined losses of in excess of US$200 million (£124m) for 23 multinational companies which were damaged or destroyed by the earthquake in Turkey last month.
The largest single loss being handled by the firm's project team is for $80m (£50m). In addition to the multinationals, the firm is also handling 300 claims from the local market.
Along with claims for property damage and business interruption, there is a claim for the cancellation of a concert.
The multinational team, including staff from the UK, Holland, Australia and the USA, is being co-ordinated from London, with a senior adjuster stationed in Turkey to assist.
"While we are still involved in assessing the extent of the damage, we are exploring long-term business recovery plans with each company," said Crawford-THG's director of international property, Hugh Sparks, who is heading up the Turkish operation.
"Our principal tasks are to identify what problems they have now, what are the likely problems in the future and what possible solutions there are to help get the plants back into production as soon as possible.
"For example, one company is sourcing its products from another part of the group and we are obtaining the expertise of original equipment manufacturers to get the machinery working again."
