Cunningham Lindsey has strengthened its London Market Casualty (LMC) business with the addition of two new team members.

Specialist disease claims adjuster Debra Smart joins from Garwyn, and assistant manager Andrea Keyworth has been recruited from within the company’s claims management division.

The pair will be looking for three more casualty claims specialists to help them in expanding that area of the business.

LMC, launched in October 2011, has experienced a 35% growth in claims numbers in the past six months. Its rapid development in the casualty sector of the Lloyd’s and London market is attributed to the close working relationships it has built up with key insurers, managing general agents and Lloyd’s syndicates.

Cunningham Lindsey head of liability services Mark Gilbert said: “Clients demand high calibre experts to handle London market personal injury and disease work. Our LMC team delivers exactly that - a niche service from within our specialist liability practice. What makes us different is that, if required, we can also provide principal specialists in environmental, property, product recall and construction liability work and this is unique in the market.

“Altogether, it’s a cost-efficient and expedient option for our clients and, since launching the London Market Casualty team last year, we’ve seen volumes of work increase significantly.”

LMC director Simon Hiscock said: “More and more clients are choosing our services, as we provide the highly specialised market response they need, with the support of a large, broad-based, international organisation.”
