The first six months of 2002 saw 7630 attacks on Linux-based web systems, according to research by mi2g.
The figure already exceeds 2001's total number of Linux attacks by 2000.
The research shows that attacks on Microsoft Windows systems is in decline. Over 9000 attacks took place in the first six months of 2002, compared to 11,800 in 2001.
