A former Bank of England regulation director has joined consultants Deloitte.
Andrew Bulley, who played a key role in the PRA’s roll-out of Solvency II to the life insurance industry, has been appointed as a partner in the Deloitte’s EMEA centre for regulatory strategy.
“Now is a time of far-reaching change for the global insurance industry. This is a tremendous opportunity for me to build on the centre’s success and to work with colleagues in the UK, EMEA and internationally to make it a leading force in the area of insurance regulation,” Bulley said.
Bulley, who worked with the Bank of England for nine years, also held senior roles supervising insurers, banks, brokers, asset managers and independent financial advisors. He is also a voting member of the board of supervisors of the European insurance and occupational pensions authority (Eiopa).
Deloitte’s head of financial services risk advisory practice Julian Leake said: “Andrew’s extensive experience in insurance supervision, most recently in the life market, and his role on the Board of Eiopa make him a very significant addition to our risk and regulatory advisory practice.”
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
