Entertainment broker merges with Baltimore-based Crossfields

Entertainment broker Doodson has merged with American broker Crossfields.

This deal brings together a UK firm with over 40 years experience and reputation in Doodson and one of the most respected and successful live music specialists in Baltimore-based Crossfields.

The expanded group brings market leading capabilities to provide tailored insurance and risk management solutions to a wide spectrum of entertainment clients ranging from globally recognised performers and event promoters to breakthrough artists.

Doodson managing director Neil Clayton says: "This is hugely exciting for us. We have been searching for a first class US partner and in Crossfields we have a firm whose expertise is second to none.

"In our respective territories both companies are leading players and together we become the ‘go to firm’ for live music and entertainment clients.”

Chief executive Roger Sandau said: “This is the perfect partnership. Doodson and Crossfields share the same values and an unwavering focus towards client service and advice. This has been key to our respective success in the past and will be the foundation of our international business as we move forward together.

Manchester law firm Pannone advised Doodson Broking Group through the deal. Corporate Partner Philip Treanor, who led the Pannone team, said: "The two companies are a strong strategic fit and now have a solid platform from which to fulfil their ambitious international expansion plans."

Now spanning five offices in the UK and North America, the group will continue to trade as Doodson Entertainment in Europe and Crossfields in the US, with plans for further expansion through controlled growth and acquisition on a global basis.
