Moneysupermarket poll says high cost of motor insurance and fuel prices forcing drivers off the road
A poll by price comparison website Moneysupermarket has shown rising motor costs is forcing one in 12 drivers off the road, The Mirror reports.
Two thirds of respondents said soaring insurance and fuel costs have taken their toll.
Only one in 20 drivers have been able to able to absorb the higher costs, while 8% of those polled have said increasing costs mean they no longer use their car at all.
Steve Sweeney from Moneysupermarket.com said: "With fuel price hikes and increasing costs of car insurance, drivers are being savvier and making changes to their habits to cut costs."
