ECIC's new underwriting manager to help grow business

The Electrical Contractors’ Insurance Company has appointed Agneta Desouza as underwriting manager.

Desouza will report to chief underwriting officer, Richard Forrest-Smith.

She spent the last six years at NIG as underwriting team leader for renewals and new business.

ECIC managing director Roger Brown said: “Over the past six months ECIC has made a signficant investment in its underwriting resource, and the enlarged team has enabled us to develop our underwriting approach, which has led to significant sales growth.

"Agneta’s appointment will further build the team, and I look forward to seeing further success in the near future.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
