Broker Kew Insurance has launched what it claims is the UK's first environment-ally friendly home insurance policy.
Underwritten by Legal & General, the policy aims to reward clients who take environmentally friendly measures within their homes.
Policyholders will receive a discount on their premiums, if they commit to carrying out simple changes within their home to enhance energy efficiency, such as utilising low energy light bulbs, recycling waste materials and using loft insulation.
A further discount will be provided for homeowners who make major modifications such as using solar-powered lighting and wind turbines.
