Businesses hit by power failure can be up and running again within an hour using a standby generator, according to Merlin Power Management.
Companies pay an annual fee to Merlin. The company will then provide alternative electricity supply in case of an emergency.
Principal Richard Meek said: “So many organisations these days are unable to function without electricity to power computers, tills, data transmission, heating, lifts and machinery that I foresee significant demand for this service.
“Sixty minutes is our target time, and if we fail to deliver within three hours we will refund the customer's annual retainer."
