David Birch promoted

Equity Direct Broking sales director, David Birch, is being promoted to managing director to lead the further expansion of its affinity business.

His appointment follows the growth of EDBL’s combined motor and home sales by 28% since the turn of the year, the renewal of several strategic affinity partnerships and signing of new deals with high profile brands including Spanish financial giant, Banco Santander.

EDBL also launched motor and home insurance schemes for the Royal British Legion under the ‘Poppy Insure’ brand.

Birch is also being appointed to IAG UK’s executive committee group. He takes up both roles on January 1, 2010.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
