Manchester set to be first new location

Equity Red Star will expand its high street presence next year, although a spokesman said there are no “specifics” on the number of new offices.

But he added that in the next two months the firm will open an office in Manchester.

In the past year, Equity Red Star has opened premises in Glasgow, Birmingham, Leeds and Bristol. It is owned by Australian insurer IAG, which sold off the rest of its UK business in January.

Equity Insurance Brokers was bought by Swinton. Hastings Direct and Advantage were sold in a management buy-out.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
