Eric Galbraith needs a hand.

The highlight of the conference for many delegates was Bob Geldof’s impassioned and entertaining speech on the closing day.

While many in the audience may have been nursing sore heads by that time, the Boomtown Rats star still filled the auditorium and held the crowd enthralled.

Apart from some scathing words for insurers – “I don’t understand what the f*** any of it’s about,” he declared – he told stories of his childhood, his years at the top of the music business and of course his work in Africa.

Reminiscing about the rock and roll lifestyle, he mentioned taking drugs backstage – before thanking Biba chief Eric Galbraith.

Is there something we should know, or had Galbraith simply been popping painkillers to ease the agony of his recently broken fingers?

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
