Preferential Direct has entered the pet travel market, with a free pet protection add-on to multi-trip travel policies bought before the end of October.
After October 30, it will cost £5 to add pet cover to any type of annual multi-trip policy.
The pet policy will cover £750 to find the pet, should it go astray or get stolen, £250 for loss or damage to the pet's baggage, £2,500 for veterinary expenses and £250 for expenses incurred when obtaining a lost pet certificate.
Dogs and cats will only be eligible for the cover if their pet passport and chip number is provided at the time of purchase.
