The Fire Protection Association (FPA) has released a Business Fire Risk Assessment Guide to help SMEs assess workplace fire risks, in conjunction with BT Redcare.
FPA managing director Jonathan O'Neill said the guide was designed to help employers carry out their legal duty under the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations, and contained an explanation of fire hazards, plus a checklist and a form for recording the risk assessment.
He said insurers should bring the guide to their client's attention.
