Magistrates fine Essex ductwork firm for lack of EL cover

Harlow Magistrates Court fined Essex firm Ductwork Environmental Services £1,000 and ordered it to pay £750 in costs for failing to purchase compulsory employers’ liability (EL) insurance, ACR News reports.

A Health and Safety Executive inspector visited the firm in June and issued a "notice to produce". Ductwork Environmental Services admitted five breaches of Section 1(1) of the Employers' Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969.
