Flood summit to put pressure on Insurers for “fairer” deal
Flood victim group the National Flood Forum is holding a summit in Cumbria next month to help people get a better deal from their insurers, the West Cumberland Times and Star reports.
The forum wants people to complete an online survey first.
Chief executive Mary Dhonau said: “Hopefully the outcome of the summit will be that insurance companies will start implementing fairer strategies, that there will be a continuity in the amount of money that is paid out in excess to victims and that people will be rewarded for implementing flood defences on their homes or businesses.”
